Do I need a planning permit to fit out my garage?
In many cases, yes. In Belgium, transforming a garage into a living space involves a change of use, which requires an urban planning declaration, or even a planning permit if the facade or external appearance is modified (for example, replacing the garage door with a window). My garage is damp or poorly insulated. Is that a problem?
Not at all, as long as the issues are addressed correctly.
