In a Brussels apartment, our clients wanted to give a fresh look to their aging bathroom, which had become impractical and aesthetically outdated. Their goal? To completely modernize the space while optimizing every detail, resulting in an elegant, durable, and practical outcome.
The project was entrusted to Avenir Rénovations Bruxelles, with a dedicated Project Manager to coordinate each step, from planning to finishing.
Step 1: Demolition and stripping down the existing structure
We began by removing the old wall coverings and sanitary fixtures. Once the room was completely emptied, we checked the condition of the supports to ensure a sound base before the technical interventions.
Step 2: Plumbing and technical preparation
Meticulous work was done on the plumbing, particularly to integrate a wall-mounted concealed faucet:
• Connections hidden within the partitions
• Precise installation in moisture-resistant drywall to ensure waterproofing
• Preparation for the water supply to the bathtub, mixer, and vanity unit
This phase required perfect coordination between the plumber and the drywall installer, given the embedding constraints.
Step 3: Installation of large-format tiles
The clients chose marble-effect tiles for a high-end and bright finish.
- Wall and floor installation with reduced joints
- Millimeter alignment work, especially around the wall niche
- Creation of a uniform aesthetic relief
This tiling provided a visual unity to the entire bathroom while enhancing the feeling of space.
Step 4: Creation of a custom wall niche
The niche integrated into the wall is one of the most technical elements of this renovation.
- Made from moisture-resistant drywall
- Tiled with meticulous finishes
- Integration of recessed LED lighting for soft and practical illumination
This niche allows for elegant storage of toiletries while freeing up the area around the bathtub.
Step 5: Installation of fixtures and finishes
Once the supports were ready, we installed:
- A wall-mounted vanity unit in natural wood
- A white ceramic basin
- A round wall mirror, perfectly centered between the two wall sconces
- A built-in bathtub with shower screen and rain showerhead
- Matte black faucets and mixers, recessed into the tiling
Step 6: Painting and final touches
The ceiling and areas outside the tiling were repainted with special moisture-resistant paint to ensure durability and resistance to condensation. The switches, outlets, and finishes were installed with care for a perfectly clean result.
A technical and elegant project, delivered on time
Thanks to rigorous management and coordinated teamwork, this bathroom was transformed into a modern, bright, and perfectly functional space. The challenge of embedding and the tiled niche was met with precision for a result that is both aesthetic and durable.
