Details of the renovation project for a living room in Brussels

In a Brussels city apartment, a couple entrusted us with the complete renovation of their living room. Their wish: to modernize the space while preserving its existing charm, particularly the original parquet flooring. The goal was clear: to create a brighter, more functional, and calming living space without having to move or tear everything apart.

This project was managed from start to finish by our Avenir Rénovations Brussels Project Manager, in collaboration with qualified local craftsmen.

Step 1: Site preparation

The old installations were carefully removed to completely free up the space: outdated kitchen elements, original light fixtures, wall coverings. This step allowed for a clean slate, conducive to a coherent redesign.

Step 2: Updating the electrical network

The electrical circuits were modernized to meet current needs: adding outlets in key areas, repositioning lighting to better structure the space, and anticipating the installation of a workspace in a corner dedicated to home office.

Step 3: Sanding and varnishing the existing parquet

The old solid herringbone parquet, typical of older Brussels homes, was completely renovated. After deep sanding, it was varnished with a satin finish to enhance its natural hue while making daily maintenance easier.

Step 4: Painting the walls and enhancing the frames

The walls were repainted in neutral and bright tones to optimize the natural light in the room. The existing frames were refurbished and repainted to give them a new lease on life and to harmoniously integrate with the overall design.

Step 5: Setting up a workspace

A discreet yet functional office space was created near the windows, taking advantage of natural light. The Project Manager ensured that all elements (outlet, lighting, available surface) were combined to create a comfortable and well-integrated telecommuting space.

A sober, bright, and well-thought-out result

This project was carried out on time, with constant monitoring by the Project Manager, ensuring smoothness and efficiency. The result: an optimized living room, combining comfort, aesthetics, and functionality, perfectly suited for family life as well as remote work.
