What grants are available for your ventilation works in 2025?

In a well-insulated home, effective ventilation is no longer a luxury: it is a necessity. To ensure good indoor air quality, prevent condensation, mold, and protect the health of occupants, it is essential to install a controlled mechanical ventilation system (CMV). The result: healthier air, a more sustainable home, and… attractive regional grants.

In 2025, Wallonia and Brussels financially support the installation of efficient ventilation systems, whether simple or double flow, through schemes like Housing Grants or RENOLUTION grants. This page presents the available amounts, the conditions to meet, and explains how Avenir Rénovations assists you in choosing, installing, and applying for the aids.

Why install an efficient ventilation system?

The main objective of a ventilation system is to ensure a constant renewal of indoor air, while minimizing energy losses.

Concrete advantages:

  • Removal of humidity, odors, pollutants
  • Reduction of mold risk
  • Improvement of respiratory comfort
  • Preservation of the building (prevents damage related to humidity)
  • Better overall energy performance

In Belgium, a renovated home without adequate ventilation no longer meets PEB standards. This is why the Regions have provided specific grants to support these installations.

Eligible ventilation systems

The two main categories of subsidized mechanical ventilation (VMC):

  • Single flow VMC: extracts stale air through extraction vents (bathrooms, toilets, kitchen)
  • Double flow VMC: extracts stale air and supplies fresh air through a heat exchanger (efficiency up to 90%)

Some grants also apply to decentralized or partial systems (floor, kitchen, bathroom), provided that the installation concerns a significant part of the dwelling.

Ventilation grants in Brussels (RENOLUTION)

General conditions

  • Dwelling over 10 years old
  • Work carried out by an approved company
  • Equipment included in the list of recognized systems
  • Application to be submitted before the start of the work via IRISbox

Indicative amounts (RENOLUTION 2025)

Type of installation Maximum grant
Single flow VMC up to 1,500 €

The amount depends on:

  • The household income
  • The type of beneficiary (occupant, landlord, co-ownership...)
  • The neighborhood (bonus in areas of enhanced renovation)

Energy audit

An PEB audit is recommended to identify actual ventilation needs and check consistency with insulation, heating, etc. In Brussels, this audit can also be partially covered by a specific grant.

6% VAT on ventilation work

All ventilation installation work in a dwelling over 10 years old, if carried out by a registered professional, benefits from the reduced VAT rate of 6%, provided that:

  • The building is used for housing
  • The company invoices the work directly
  • The client is a private individual

This rate applies to materials, labor, and travel.

Possible loans and financing

In Wallonia

  • Rénopack: 0% loan for work resulting from the housing audit
  • Rénoprêt: more flexible 0% loan, without mandatory audit

These two loans can finance the purchase and installation of your VMC.

In Brussels

  • ECORENO Credit: subsidized loan (starting from 1.5%) offered by the Housing Fund, up to 60,000 € repayable over 30 years

These credits allow you to avoid using your savings while cumulatively obtaining regional grants.
