What technologies are eligible for grants in 2025?

The main heating installations covered by the grants are:

• Air/water, ground/water, or hybrid heat pumps
• Biomass boilers (wood, pellets)
• High-performance pellet or wood stoves
• Solar water heaters
• Improvement of control systems (thermostats, thermostatic valves)
• Insulation of pipes and storage tanks

Heating grants in Wallonia

General conditions

• The home must be located in Wallonia and built more than 15 years ago
• A housing audit is mandatory for most equipment
• The installation must be carried out by a contractor registered with the BCE
• The equipment must be listed on the recognized equipment list by the Region

Indicative amounts 2025

In addition, there are grants for:

• Insulation of pipes: up to 204 €
• Variable speed circulators: up to 456 €
• Insulation or replacement of tanks: up to 432 €
• Thermostatic valves and thermostats: up to 120 €

The amounts are increased based on your income category (R1 to R4). People in category R1 can receive up to 6 times the base grant.

Concrete example

Replacement of an oil boiler with a heat pump + thermodynamic water heater:

• Total grant R2 (multiplier x4): 2,400 € (heat pump) + 1,120 € (water heater) = 3,520 €
• 6% VAT applicable
• Rénopack credit possible to finance the work

Heating grants in Brussels (RENOLUTION)

General conditions

• The home must be at least 10 years old
• The installation must be carried out by an approved professional
• The equipment must be listed on the recognized devices list by Brussels Environment
• The application must be submitted before the work via IRISbox

Indicative amounts 2025

The amounts depend on several factors:

• Household income
• Type of housing
• Neighborhood (bonus for priority areas)
• Number of people in the household

Energy audit (PEB)

In some cases, an energy audit is recommended to obtain a bonus or prioritize the most effective work. It can also be subsidized up to 700 € through RENOLUTION.

Additional aids

6% VAT

All heating equipment installed in a residential building over 10 years old is eligible for the reduced VAT rate of 6%, provided that:

• The installation is carried out by a VAT-registered contractor
• The client is a private individual
• The home is primarily used for residential purposes

This VAT reduction applies in both Wallonia and Brussels.
