Based in Braine-l'Alleud, in the Walloon Brabant, David Desmaret and Gautier Deworst join the Avenir Rénovations network with complementary backgrounds in real estate, property management, and customer relations. David, a real estate agent since 2010 and the head of an eco-friendly cleaning company, has solid entrepreneurial experience and a strong sense of service. Gautier, with over 15 years of experience in managing residential and commercial properties, has developed real skills in coordination, organization, and customer support. After several years of professional collaboration, their trust-based relationship led them to build a joint project in the renovation sector. Attracted by a concrete, human, and promising profession, they chose to join Avenir Rénovations to rely on a structured network and efficient tools. Today, they support individuals in Braine-l'Alleud and its region with their renovation, fit-out, home extension, and energy renovation projects.

Can you tell us about your professional background?

David: I am a trained real estate agent and have been active in the real estate sector since 2010. In parallel, I have been running an eco-friendly cleaning company since 2015.

As a passionate entrepreneur attentive to my clients' needs, I place great importance on the quality of service provided. My goal has always been to offer reliable, responsive, and impeccable support.

Gautier: My background is primarily focused on property management, both residential and commercial. I have worked for several companies as a property manager, property administrator, and rental manager.

For over 15 years, my daily routine has involved building a trust-based relationship with clients, coordinating various stakeholders, managing priorities, finding solutions, and ensuring the smooth running of operations.

We met in a professional setting. David's company was responsible for cleaning and restoring many apartments that Gautier managed for a significant owner. This collaboration, particularly effective and positive over several years, gave rise to a genuine trust relationship, and then to a friendship.

Why did you choose to shift to a different field?

Gautier: Over the years, I felt the need to shift towards a more independent activity that would allow me to fully leverage the skills I had acquired throughout my career. I was looking for more autonomy, versatility, and freedom in my professional life, as well as the opportunity to build a solid and sustainable entrepreneurial project.

Creating my own business was therefore a natural evolution to give a new dynamic to my career.

David: For my part, I wanted to take on a new entrepreneurial challenge. For several years, I had noticed a growing demand for work, but I had not yet found the right structure to respond effectively.

When Gautier called me to talk about his project, I immediately saw the opportunity. We took the time to exchange ideas, reflect, and discuss with Avenir Rénovations before deciding to embark on this adventure together.

What attracted you to the renovation sector?

David: Renovation is a sector with enormous growth potential, provided one knows how to meet the many demands of the profession.

Techniques are constantly evolving, while concepts of sustainability and energy performance have become essential. Not all players necessarily master all these challenges. By working as a team, we can leverage our experience, complementarity, and technical knowledge to analyze, advise, support, and do everything possible to achieve the best result, while respecting deadlines and budgets.

Gautier: Every project is different and unique. It is often linked to an important life project for the clients. There is never a one-size-fits-all solution, and that is precisely what makes this profession exciting.

One must constantly question oneself, listen, understand, be creative, and adopt a tailored approach for each client. Collaboration and the human element are at the heart of a successful renovation project.

Why did you choose to open your business as a franchise?

Gautier: Starting alone, without support, without a network of suppliers, and without structured tools, was a barrier for me, even with experience and strong motivation.

The franchise allows one to benefit from a clear framework, professional tools, solid support, and recognition from the outset. Even if the financial investment may seem significant, it saves a lot of time, secures the launch of the business, and allows one to move forward with more confidence. In the end, everyone benefits: the entrepreneur, the network, and the clients.

David: For me, the expression "unity is strength" takes on its full meaning here. Wanting to succeed alone is often more difficult. By joining our efforts...
